Speaker	:	Prof Eddie Chi Man HUI, MH Prof. Hui is an all-round professional with diverse experience in research and consultancy projects. Before joining PolyU, he was responsible for research and development for a major professional surveying firm in Hong Kong. At Hong Kong University, he obtained his BSc (first class honours) with prizes/awards. At the University of Cambridge, UK, he finished his MPhil in Land Economy (first class) with a Commonwealth Scholarship. With another Commonwealth Scholarship, he completed his Ph.D. at the Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge, UK, where he is a fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust. The Chief Executive has awarded Prof. Hui in this year’s (2015) Honours list. He is presented the Medal of Honour (MH) for his dedicated public service, particularly his contributions to the Town Planning Board and the surveying sector.

Details	:	The retail property sector is an important sector in Hong Kong. It is universally accepted that managing a shopping mall is no easy task. Nor would one disagree that many factors are at work and they play an important role in the success of a retail facility. However, a core question remains: how to manage a shopping mall successfully? This CPD event is to report on a PFMD research Project that investigates the factors that affect the success of managing a shopping mall in Hong Kong, having regard to today’s market trend and situation. The CPD will share those findings that provide important implications and suggestions. This CPD will provide an understanding of the success factors (including recent technology innovations as said) at work now and comprehend the possible changes they should prepare themselves for in future. It is therefore relevant not only to the property and facility professionals, but also the professional community at large.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
