This presentation focuses on the highly topical future development of Site 3 on Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront; a key site slated for redevelopment which is due to be put up for auction in 2018. What is done with the site has the potential to change the harbourfront dramatically, and will be a key part of Hong Kong’s picture-postcard view.

Benoy together with Designing Hong Kong and BuroHappold Engineering, were drawn to the Site 3 project and how its pending sale and redevelopment would no doubt shape the future use and enjoyment of Hong Kong’s iconic waterfront. To spark a discussion across the industry and raise the profile of this site to the public, the working group created a series of ideas which aim to catalyse a renaissance of the entire harbourfront.

For the purpose of this presentation, Simon and the distinguished speakers will discuss the driving factors behind the group’s proposed conceptual designs, how they evolve the existing government brief, and aim to create a legacy for the people of Hong Kong and beyond.

The question for the discussion with the surveyors is how the sale of the site should be handled to ensure the best outcome beyond land premiums.
