Construction claims have given an adversarial feeling to many industry practitioners. The aggressive behavior of the claimant and the over-defensive reaction from the respondent are both unhelpful for the settlement of the construction claims. As a quantity surveyor, we are the gatekeeper of cost and contract of a project which inevitably requiring us to play an important role in the claims settlement. This talk will share about how a quantity surveyor can facilitate the negotiation and settlement of the construction claims, in particular to the claim on prolongation cost.
