Detailed Background of Mr. James Wong:
Mr. James Wong, Managing Director of Key Technologies International Ltd, was trained as a Builder and graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic in 1984. He is an Incorporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate with extensive experience in Building Construction and Management. He became an Architectural Ironmonger in 1990 and started the first Branch of the UK Institute of Architectural Ironmongers in Hong Kong in 2012 with his passion to enhance the quality standards and professionalism of practicing Architectural Ironmongers in the region. He chaired the HK Branch of the Institute for 3 years since its inauguration and is still actively involved in the Branch Committee. He is also a Registered Architectural Ironmonger.

James and his team were involved in the supply and management of a variety of project categories in Asia, including the Hong Kong International Airport, Asiaworld Expo, Xiqu at West Kowloon Cultural District, HKSAR Government Hospitals and Public Facilities, Sportshub Complex in Singapore, St Regis Hotel & Serviced Apartment in Kuala Lumpur, The Secretariat, a Heritage Building in Yangon plus many more.

Description of this Talk:

Architectural Ironmongery is one of the most complicated products in construction projects. James and his team are some of the very few in Asia who took the challenges by participating in a variety of iconic buildings with different levels of difficulties in Asia.

 

The speaker will unfold the mysteries in door hardware by sharing his knowledge and experience on performance standards, codes of practice and different formats of ironmongery schedule commonly used in our industry.  He will also assist you in overcoming the hurdle of measurement and will give suggestions on products selection for New Build and A&A Works.  James will also use some case studies to demonstrate how Registered Architectural Ironmongers could contribute to your project and will introduce a few innovative products at the later part of his presentation.
