Speaker	:	Mr. Eric Wong, Chairman and Managing Director, Bricks & Mortar Management Limited Professional History Eric Wong is the founder and managing director of private equity firm Bricks & Mortar Management Ltd, a company specialised in investing in physical property across the world to take advantage of differing property cycles in different markets. In the past 19 years, the portfolio of properties managed by Eric has returned 72x on equity invested (26% ROE p.a.). Prior to his current venture, Eric worked at UBS between 1998 and 2011, rising to the position of Head of Asia Real Estate Research, during this period the UBS Asian Property Research Team secured top three rankings every year in various financial polls. Eric’s research responsibility included real estate and hotels strategy in Asia, with specific focus on Hong Kong and China; his company coverage included property developers, landlords, REITs, and hotel stocks. Eric also worked on many landmark transactions, including the IPOs of New World China Land, MTRC, BOC (HK), Link REIT, Greentown China, Country Garden, SOHO China, Renhe Commercial, Glorious Property, Longfor, Jinjiang Hotels, and many other major financing transactions besides. Earlier on in his career, Eric qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in the UK, followed by working in Europe with Ford Motor Company in profit analysis and internal audit. Eric is also a respected commentator on economics, property markets, and urban planning / housing policies, frequently interviewed by Hong Kong’s top TV / radio stations, newspapers and magazines. Education Eric has an MA in Law from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Warwick University.

Details	:	Mr Wong will share with us some insights on the property universe to kick off your investment planning for 2020: With HK home prices having risen over 5-fold since the 2003 SARS bottom, and the global growth slowdown, trade wars, not to mention internal politics, has the strong upcycle run its course? Whether that is the case, where else in the world still present attractive property investment opportunities? Bombarded by a plethora of advertising selling markets from Germany, and Japan to more frontier markets like Malaysia or Vietnam, how should we choose our investment allocation?

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
