Speaker	:	Sr Dr Lennon Choy, Associate Head, Department of Real Estate and Construction, The University of Hong Kong Sr Dr Lennon Choy is a General Practice Surveyor by profession. Before he joined HKU, he held faculty positions in The HK Polytechnic University, The University of Chicago and The Washington University in St. Louis. His core research area is on institutional analysis. He had provided public services to the Development Bureau, Food and Health Bureau, Education Bureau and the Estate Agents Authority etc. Currently, Sr Dr Choy is a Council Member and a Co-convener of the Education Committee of GPD, HKIS.

Details	:	This webinar walks through the key debates and contributors of climate change. It goes on to discuss the major global efforts to combat the issue. Attention will be put on some market-based solutions such as carbon trading and renewal energy certificate etc. to supplement governmental directives. Featuring the introductions of some Nobel Laureates in Economics Sciences and Peace in this aspect, the talk is intended to shed new lights on how surveyors may contribute to combat climate change, such as carbon asset valuation and low carbon life cycle costing etc. This is not intended to be a one-way broadcasting webinar, but an interactive talk with active participations from the audience.
Remarks	:	The event will be conducted online via ZOOM. Successful registrants will be notified separately via email with the web link and password in due course to the online event . Please install the Zoom Application in advance at https://www.zoom.us/download. For Mobile phones, iPads & Android, install the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app from App Store or Play Store. For PC and Mac, download and install the Zoom Client for Meetings.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
