Nowadays, gypsum block wall and drywall are commonly adopted as internal partition in many building projects, particularly in hospital projects.


The presentation will give an introduction of gypsum block wall and drywall, their history, production process, on-site installation and its challenges, and usage in the Hong Kong construction industry.  Both of them are considered to be fast construction method, less wet trade on site and higher flexibility, etc., and also serve functions of fire-rated and acoustic requirements.  The speakers will also share the difference between gypsum block wall and traditional concrete block wall construction in terms of technical, time and cost aspects.
