Sr Cheung is the past president of the HKIS, past chairman of the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS), past world chairman of the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC) & past chairman of HKIS QSD. Sr Cheung is currently member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority and chairman of the Tender Committee, member of the Steering Committee for Transitional Housing projects at HKCSS and member of the Tender Assessment Panel of the Estate Office, University of Hong Kong. Sr Cheung has been an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Real Estate and Construction, University of Hong Kong for 15 years from 2005 – 2020. He is a visiting lecturer at both the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on dispute resolution.

Details :

The government has committed to build over 10,000 transitional housing units in the next 3 years. The first completed transitional housing project was by HKCSS in Nam Cheong Street, Sham Shui Po.  Sr Cheung was involved in this project from inception to completion, witnessed a lot of problems and challenges facing the delivery of this type of project using MIC technology.  In the talk, Sr Cheung will share with us his insight into a few contractual and cost side of the transitional housing projects.
