Building (Planning) Regulations (B(P)Rs) and the related sections of the Buildings Ordinance (BO), aim at achieving a sustainable environment in Hong Kong for the planning, design and construction of private buildings including projections, heights, site coverage, plot ratio, open spaces, lanes, lighting and ventilation, staircases, fire escapes and access for firefighting and rescue purposes, temporary buildings, hoardings, covered walkways and gantries etc.

To promulgate the application, administration and enforcement the provisions of Building (Planning) Regulations, the Building Authority (BA), as a public authority to approve the building works whether for new building works or alteration & addition works, has issued a number of practice notes, code of practice and design manual on compliance with the requirements, which unarguably play an important role in the building control mechanism.

Participants can understand and update on the control regime for property development through this 6-half-day short course on building control.
