Speaker	:	Prof. CHEN Wu Professor and Head of Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Prof. CHEN Wu joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2000 and currently is a professor at Department of Land Surveying and Geo-informatics, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has been actively working on GNSS related research for over 30 years and has been working on a large number of research projects funded by universities, governments, and industries. His main research interests are Geodesy and Geodynamics, Seamless positioning technologies, indoor positioning, navigation and integrity, GNSS positioning and applications, system integration, GNSS performance evaluation, regional GPS network, wireless sensor network positioning, and Airborne Lidar applications. He has published over 400 technical papers in different journals and international conferences, submitted over 30 technical reports to various organizations, granted or filed more than 10 patents.

Details	:	Under the support of Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) and Lands Departments of Hong Kong government, we develop a precise geoid model with 1 cm accuracy for Hong Kong. Over 600 new gravity points were surveyed with the accuracy 0.060x10^-5ms^-2. Combined with the existing 640 gravity points and more than 70 GNSS/leveling points, the Hong Kong precise geoid model is developed based on two independent algorithms. Through the external evaluation, it shows the accuracy of the Hong Kong geoid model is 1 cm, which is able to support ordinary leveling within Hong Kong territory using GNSS/leveling method. Currently this geoid model has been implemented in the Hong Kong coordinate transformation service provided by the Lands Department.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
