Details :

Under the support of Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) and Lands Departments of Hong Kong government, we develop a precise geoid model with 1 cm accuracy for Hong Kong.

Over 600 new gravity points were surveyed with the accuracy 0.060x10-5ms-2. Combined with the existing 640 gravity points and more than 70 GNSS/leveling points, the Hong Kong precise geoid model is developed based on two independent algorithms.  Through the external evaluation, it shows the accuracy of the Hong Kong geoid model is 1 cm, which is able to support ordinary leveling within Hong Kong territory using GNSS/leveling method. Currently this geoid model has been implemented in the Hong Kong coordinate transformation service provided by the Lands Department.
