Details :

Conservation and development were seen as conflicting forces in the past. Private developers were oftentimes seen as the “bad guys”, who demolished historic buildings for redevelopment. Times have changed, more and more developers in Hong Kong have started to keep partial or whole of the historic buildings and integrate into their developments. While there have been positive and negative comments about individual projects, internationally, this approach has gained recognition for being a sustainable and viable way to balance conservation and development.

In this CPD talk, Candy Chan will discuss examples of conservation-cum-development projects in Hong Kong; and share her experience and understanding on the approach.
