This CPD course will use a series of powerpoints to cover the features, importance and issues in conservation of surviving WW2 pillboxes on Hong Kong Island, which have been identified, mapped, inspected and information published in the last special issue of Surveying & Built Environment on the Battle of Hong Kong (December 1941). It will discuss the ways in which a surveyor can help conservation planning and management of these and other military built heritage structures. It will use case studies to help discussion in the Q&A session.
