This seminar is organized to cover the following topics:

The GeoSpatial Lab (GeoLab) is established by the Development Bureau of the HKSAR Government, operated by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and supported by Smart City Consortium (SCC).  SCC is responsible for the daily operation of the GeoLab.  The word “Geo” stands for geographic and “Lab” stands for Laboratory.  The GeoLab encourages the public to make use of spatial data (e.g. building height and shape with 3-D presentation etc) in developing smart applications, dovetailing the Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI) (e.g. underground services and utilities etc) initiative in support of smart city development.

This webinar will introduce the basic concept of spatial data and to inspire surveyors and developers representatives the importance of spatial data. Representatives can then distribute the messages to their companies for making good use of the spatial data to develop a smart city.

The Geo Lab provides a platform for the Government to reach out to the wider community through engagement activities to explore together the value and applications of spatial data and develop innovative applications for improving quality of life, as well as supporting the smart city development
