Speaker : Mr. Andrew Lau
Mr. Andrew Lau is Director of ESG Advisory for Colliers Asia. He has extensive experience in ESG advisory and helped many multi-national companies to formulate Asia specific strategy in driving net zero carbon targets. Andrew has over 18 years’ of experience in energy and sustainability engineering, Andrew has delivered projects include equipment upgrade, plant control optimization, renewable energy to name a few. The projects that Andrew delivered has saved over 60 GWh up-to-today and most of them have guarantee saving included in the contract.

Andrew has previously held position of energy and sustainability lead, sustainability officer, product manager and business development manager in multinational real estate and engineering firms. Andrew is a professional engineer by training. His professional qualification includes UK Chartered Engineer, Member of Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers and Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Registered Energy Assessor, Certified Energy Manager, Certified Building Commissioning Professional, LEED and WELL Accredited Professional.

ESG is an ecosystem in which business decisions impact the environment and, consequently, our assets, living and business environments, and the community. The correlation between the environment, well-being, and economy has been well-proven. Many investors and insurance companies have suffered massive, unexpected losses because they neglected ESG. This has led to a collective rethink of their investment approach,  strategy, and priorities. Investors are now placing significant emphasis on accessing ESG information via several established international frameworks, ratings and indices. Building contribute about 60% of Hong Kong carbon emission, sustainability in construction industry became an important element in Hong Kong journey in carbon neutrality. Green certification, technologies and efficient project management can contribute positively in this aspect.
