In view of the approval and issuance of the Code of Practice ("COP"), Fifth Edition, under the Land Survey Ordinance (Cap. 473), the Land Surveying Division ("LSD") Council considered that the HKIS Guidance Notes for Land Boundary Survey (2013 Edition), which was prepared for the use of all HKIS members, should be reviewed so as to keep pace with the standard of land boundary survey as stipulated in the COP (Fifth Edition), and to propose other necessary changes to strengthen the standard.

The revised Guidance Notes “HKIS Guidance Notes for Land Boundary Survey (2022 Edition)” was endorsed by the General Council on 24 March 2022 and in accordance with Bye-Law 6.1 shall be ratified by Corporate Members at an EGM scheduled to be held on 22 August 2022.   (Members may login under the HKIS website to download the Notice of the EGM and related papers.)

To outline the major amendments to the revised Guidance Notes, a discussion forum is organised by the LSD Council.    The rundown of the forum is as follows:-
