Wong is currently practising with the post-qualification of General Practice & Valuation Surveyor, Fellowship Chartered Building Engineer and Property Litigation Expert Witness and well-versed with the land development process, aviation operation and civil litigation proceedings. Wong was one of the drone industry advisors to the drafting of the new SUAO promulgated in June 2022.

In 2011-15, Wong was appointed as the Executive Director cum Legal Counsel of a Sino-Foreign JVE under the monitoring of China Aviation Administration of China for operation and management of private jet and helicopter commercial services and aviation real estate. Accordingly, Wong has a mastery of the aviation laws in China, USA and Hong Kong and international civil aviation SARPs (Standards & Recommended Practice). Since 2014, Wong has served as the pioneer of operating an UAS aviation company and an aerial imaging production house with inputs of PropTech and Ai for the land and building clients. A UAS Flying Club is set up by Wong for regular enhancement of UAS users’ flying skills.

Wong is engaged as the drone expert to transfer the Advanced Rating UAS aeronautical knowledge & share the operational experience with the surveying & engineering students of tertiary institutions (HKPU, THEi & CIHE), Professional bodies (HKIBI, CABE & HIREA), private firms and government departments and operate the UAS flying certification assessment in line with localised SUA flying standards of Civil Aviation Department (CAD).

Wong’s drone flying service team now holds the full CAD’s accredited qualification of Advanced Operation Permission (AOP) and Registered Advanced Rating SUA Remote Pilot for (i) Advanced Operation, (ii) Aerial Building Survey & Inspection, (iii) Aerial Photographing Operation, and (iv) Extended Visual Line of Sight Operation. Wong will help our HKIS members to understand the ever-updating “mandatory safety requirements” of using SUA under the ConOps (Concept of Operations) of SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) in this CPD.
