Join us on a captivating Day Tour to Lai Chi Wo, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Hong Kong's countryside. In collaboration with the Hong Kong Architectural Centre, the HKIS Members Welfare Committee is organising a Day Tour to Lai Chi Wo on 25 November (Saturday). Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of this ancient village, where traditional Hakka culture and breathtaking landscapes await.

Embark on a journey through time as you wander along the narrow pathways, lined with quaint ancestral homes and lush greenery. Discover the rich history and heritage of Lai Chi Wo through engaging storytelling by our knowledgeable guides. Mr Tsang Wai-yip, representative of Lai Chi Wo Village, will introduce the history and recent situation of the village. Mr Kevin Li, architect / Mr Benjamin Yiu, architect, will introduce the renovated Hakka Life Experience Village House of the Hong Kong Village Foundation.

  1. Online registration is accepted for this event. A completed Standard Reservation Form and Declaration Form are required for offline registration. First-come-first-served. Walk-in is not available.
  2. All participating members shall arrange their own transport to the meet-up point.
  3. Late-comers will NOT be picked up.
  4. While HKIS will arrange for insurance policy for the participants, members may consider taking out their own insurance policy to cover.
